Berry Game Calls was founded in 1983 when Glen Berry began manufacturing a quality line of mouth calls for elk hunters. With a positive response, Glen and his wife Liz began adding new and improved products to their game call line. Glen began doing elk calling seminars and in 1985, Glen produced his first hunting video, "Bugling with Success". It was a hit, and immediately guide schools began using this video as a teaching tool for their students. In 1991, Glen designed a unique mouth diaphragm with two layers of latex crisscrossing in the middle. This design made it easier to control tones and produce quality elk sounds. By 1994, hunters were wanting something new and Glen responded by hitting two home runs by designing both the Sleazy Cow Call and Thunder Bugle. The Sleazy Cow Call made extremely realistic raspy cow sounds, and could be used as an inhale or exhale call. The Thunder Bugle was extremely easy to use and was the first of its kind to allow a reed to set on a horizontal mouthpiece without any tape or bulky fixtures. The interchangeable reeds simply snapped into a slot. It easily became the best selling external call in stores. In 1995, Berry Game Calls worked with one of the Northwest's best artists, Dave Bartholet, to create a new image with eye-pleasing packaging. They started using a blend of artwork and pictures to develop a look that customers will remember. In the past years Berry Game Calls / Big Bull Productions have increased their line to over 50 products. Glen has produced 14 bowhunting videos/dvds and has created a television show (Berry Game Calls Hunting Adventures) which has aired on both The Outdoor Channel and The Men's Channel.
